I focus on delivering engaging and relevant content, unique perspectives, creative storytelling, sideline reporting, or on-air hosting. But, that hasn't always been the case.
"Papa, is your car radio broken? Because your car only plays sports talk radio but mom plays music.” I asked my father that question when I was 8 years old. That’s all I heard in his car growing up; for years, it seemed the dial position was stuck on the same station.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, sports has always been a big part of my life and to this day, plays an integral role. While I was not as athletic and talented as others, I realized my voice and opinions could and would become my “sport.” At age 12, I created and launched ZachOnSports – a YouTube channel featuring personal opinions, commentary, and interviews with local and national media and sports personalities.
Hi, my name is Zach Gershman. I am a senior at Penn State University pursuing a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Sports Studies and a certificate from the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
As I prepare to graduate and embark on future employment opportunities, I hope to become an integral part of a collegiate/professional team's on-air content staff or sports media department.
